What he does
The soundtrack to your afternoon
Guests arriving. The aisle. The register. Drinks on the lawn while the photographs are taken.
Adam Cable plays the parts of a wedding day that set its tone, the hours before the evening band arrives and everything gets loud. He works as one person with an acoustic guitar and a voice, which is quiet enough to talk over and good enough to stop people talking.
Over 500 weddings sit behind that. It is the difference between someone who knows the songs and someone who knows when to sit back, when to lift it, and how long a signing of the register really takes.

Ceremony and drinks
Outside, if the weather holds
An outdoor ceremony or a drinks reception on the lawn is the part of the day most suppliers make difficult. Adam arrives set up for it. The PA runs on his own power arrangement, the guitar is amplified properly rather than shouted over, and the whole thing packs down before the wedding breakfast is called.
Where the weather or the site will not allow it, the same set moves indoors without a change to what you have booked.
Every one of these is from a couple who booked Adam through Artist Republic. Venue as recorded.
Adam played us down the aisle and I don't think I've ever heard the room go that quiet. He learned a song for us that isn't exactly famous and made it sound better than the original. The afternoon was just as good, everyone sat on the lawn with a drink listening. Booking him was the easiest decision we made all year.
Massive thank you to Adam. Our ceremony got delayed by nearly forty minutes and he filled the whole gap without batting an eyelid, then did his afternoon sets as if nothing had happened. He also came and found us at the end to say congratulations, which was a nice touch. Worth every penny and I don't say that lightly about weddings.
Wasn't sure one bloke with a guitar would fill a space that big. Adam absolutely did. You could hear him at the far end of the garden and it never once sounded thin. He'd learned our first dance as an acoustic version for the ceremony too, which set my mum off crying before I'd even got down the aisle. Brilliant.
If you're weighing up whether a solo acoustic act is enough for the daytime, it is. Adam held the ceremony and the whole reception on his own and the sound never dropped off. He'd asked us beforehand about the sort of thing we liked and stuck to it. Calm, polite, sounded superb, and he made the day feel completely unhurried.
My nan is 89 and she asked twice who the singer was. That tells you everything. Adam played through our ceremony and then for a couple of hours on the terrace afterwards, and the mix of stuff he does means there was something for everyone from about 20 to 90. Lovely to have around all day as well, and he even played on a bit while we waited for the caterers.
We're still getting messages about the music. Adam played through the signing of the register and it completely changed the feel of the room, people were smiling instead of shuffling about. Then two sets outside afterwards while everyone had photos taken. My dad, who normally hates this sort of thing, went over specially to shake his hand. Really pleased we found him.
We're still buzzing about our wedding music. Adam played us in, then carried on quietly through the register signing, and by the time we walked back out half the room was in bits. The afternoon in the walled garden was gorgeous, everyone with a glass in hand listening. He made a Thursday wedding feel like a proper occasion. Cannot fault a thing.
If you want someone who actually reads a room, book Adam. Our drinks reception ran late because the photographer overran and he just kept going without anyone having to ask. Quiet stuff while people were arriving, then lifted it once the bar opened. Guests were singing along by the second set. Nothing felt forced and that's harder to pull off than it sounds.
Adam covered the whole daytime for us and it was spot on. Ceremony, then two sets while the courtyard filled up. What struck me was how much he varied it, quieter things early and more upbeat later, so it never got samey over three or four hours. Good singer, good guitarist, and he sorted the microphone for the speeches too.
Booked Adam about eight months before the day and he answered every email within a few hours. Turned up early, set up quietly, sorted the mic for the speeches without me even asking. Voice is properly good, not just background noise. A few of our guests wanted his details before the evening band had even started. Very easy bloke to deal with.
We were a fair way from where Adam is based and he still turned up in plenty of time and never mentioned the drive once. Played beautifully in the barn for the ceremony then moved outside for the afternoon. Loads of our guests said it was the best wedding music they'd heard. If you're getting married down this way he's well worth the ask.
Solid from start to finish. Adam did the ceremony, played while we were having photographs done, and lent us the PA for the speeches, which saved us hiring one separately. No fuss, no faff, sounded great outside. My wife had asked for one particular song for walking in and he nailed it. Would happily recommend him to anyone getting married round here.
